Were there bedding halls of fame or lifetime achievement awards for mattresses, none would be more worthy a candidate than our dear old Hoskins mattress. We have manufactured literally thousands of these classic utilitarian mattresses over the last quarter of a century. Each one identical to the last, they represent an ever-consistent benchmark for the quality and integrity of our products.
In common with all our open coil mattresses, this standard entry level model features a robust 325 count, Bonnell open-coil spring unit fully fitted with 3.25 mm (9 swg) wire rod edges and coil-sprung edge supports; all held securely with the elite Hartco-clip system.
The Hoskins mattress’ excellent comfort provision comes courtesy of its six individual layers of fillings. These include Feltex™ in both needled & Polypropylene, stitch-bonded formats plus durable white fibre toppers. Hoskins mattresses are carefully upholstered with a traditional black & white herringbone ticking. Additionally, they come fully fitted with strong sewn-in handles, central brass air vents and traditional hand tufting.
In standard format, the Hoskins mattress utilises 2.3 mm spring wire. This offers a medium-to-firm feel when used on firm un-sprung bases or solid pine slats. When pairing the Hoskins mattress with a fully sprung divan, a fully sprung bedstead base, or laminated-and-sprung Beech slats, a medium-to-soft feel can be achieved.
