Our SHOOLBRED mattress uses the classic 1,000 count pocket spring unit to great effect. Once the darling of top end mattress models, 1,000 count units has seen a decline in popularity as bed maker’s perceived a demand for higher spring counts from high street bed retailers. In actuality 1,000 pocket springs are atomically, a fantastic configuration for a Homo Sapien body shape and form.
The combination of this common sense approach to spring configuration, allied to generous, gutsy fillings, combine to make our SHOOLBRED a real design classic. As such its status as an enduringly popular, mid-range luxury pocket sprung mattress cannot be overstated. SHOOLBRED’s are a really firm favourite with three generations of our customers; many tell us their SHOOLBRED mattress has become one of their most treasured possessions.
SHOOLBRED mattresses have six individual upholstery layers distributed evenly above and below the pocket springs. Spring-Flex® insulator pads directly overlay the springs, these layers are followed by two further layers of American white cotton felt and finally by two white fibre topper pads resting snugly beneath the upholstery tick.
In common with all Sleeping Partners pocket sprung mattresses, internal fly stitching around the top and bottom of the boarder ensures edge-to-edge comfort & good parameter support. Flag stitched handles and brass air vents provide a neat finish and strong lifting points. Upholstered in a luxury Belgian Damask ticking and contrasting beige check border, a hand-tufted finish ensures minimal filling movement and provision for many years of subtle, yielding comfort.
SHOOLBRED mattresses are available in either a soft 1.5 mm spring wire, or a medium 1.7 mm spring wire. The firmer springs are increasingly popular when allied to a firm, un-sprung divan, or a bedstead’s base slats.
